TERRA NOVA ALL-SUITE HOTEL, KINGSTON
Faith, Family, and Rain: Kayla & Zachary’s Terra Nova Wedding

If you ask any couple what they fear most, "torrential rain" is usually at the top of the list. Kayla and Zachary’s ceremony was supposed to be outdoors, but the Jamaican weather had other plans. We moved everything inside, and while it wasn't the original plan, it turned out to be exactly what the day needed.
One Big Family
The day started with a beautiful sense of unity. Even though they got ready in separate rooms, you could hardly tell who belonged to which side. Kayla’s dad was right there with Zachary and the groomsmen, and both mothers were with the bridesmaids.

While the girls were getting ready, I caught a brief exchange of glances and a smile between Kayla and her mom. I stayed back and kept the camera ready; they didn't even realize I was there, but that quiet, unscripted moment said everything about their bond.
A Foundation of Faith
The energy in the room was fueled by a deep, shared faith. One of the most moving moments was when the families surrounded Kayla and Zachary to pray and worship with them. The love in that room was heavy; Kayla couldn't hold back the tears, and it was a raw, spiritual moment that a sunny sky couldn't have made any more beautiful.
Tears and Toasts
The emotions didn’t stop at the ceremony. During the toasts, both Kayla and her maid of honor broke down. Seeing that kind of bond—where a friend is so genuinely overwhelmed with joy—is why I love what I do. It was clear how much their relationship meant to them.

The Takeaway
We didn't get to do every photo we intended to because of the weather, but it didn't matter. Kayla and Zachary’s day reminded me that when you strip away the logistics, you're left with love and family. Those are the only things worth capturing.
